In order to achieve its goals, HAWCA focuses on the following strategies:

  • Providing free literacy education for women;
  • Providing free primary and secondary education for children (girls and boys), particularly in remote areas of Afghanistan;
  • Protecting women's human rights as well as the human rights of children and all residents;
  • Providing emergency assistance for victims affected by natural or man-made disasters;
  • Raising women and children's awareness of democratic values, human rights, peace, and conflict resolution through educational programs;
  • Providing facilities for women-headed households to support self-sufficiency and sustainable livelihoods;
  • Facilitating the self-empowerment of youth (female and male) through information technology and language training;
  • Providing children of war-affected areas with education on peace and tolerance;
  • Lobbying for women's rights and human rights through the legal framework of the country and international conventions on women's rights;
  • Working in collaboration with all other women's and human rights organizations to pressure political and decision-making institutions for just and safe policies.
