In order to achieve its goals, HAWCA focuses on the following strategies:
- Providing free literacy education for women;
- Providing free primary and secondary education for children (girls and boys), particularly in remote areas of Afghanistan;
- Protecting women's human rights as well as the human rights of children and all residents;
- Providing emergency assistance for victims affected by natural or man-made disasters;
- Raising women and children's awareness of democratic values, human rights, peace, and conflict resolution through educational programs;
- Providing facilities for women-headed households to support self-sufficiency and sustainable livelihoods;
- Facilitating the self-empowerment of youth (female and male) through information technology and language training;
- Providing children of war-affected areas with education on peace and tolerance;
- Lobbying for women's rights and human rights through the legal framework of the country and international conventions on women's rights;
- Working in collaboration with all other women's and human rights organizations to pressure political and decision-making institutions for just and safe policies.
