Most common type of violence

Considering a women as inferior to men is very common in third world countries. Feeling superior to women, whenever there is an argument, the men starts beating and insulting the women. We at HAWCA try hard to bring changes in the minds of the people to make them think that men and women are equal in all fields of life. The decisions regarding the family should be taken collectively and not just by men. Beating and harassing women when they want to take part in different issues, make the women weak and powerless which in turn breaks the community in to two weak portions. A weak community can never progress in any filed.

(Code name 211) (To protect the identity of the victim HAWCA uses code name instead of the original names)

My husband is a very irresponsible person and he is very short temper. Whenever I oppose his decisions regarding home affairs, he starts beating me and tells me that I have no right to give my views and opinions.

A few days ago he started beating my 18 years old son, when I tried to stop him from beating my son, he started beating me and saying that how many times I have told you not to interfere in my decisions and actions. He beat me very hard and broke my hand.

I want to make an example for other women who are victims of violence and so I want the court to punish my husband for his cruel and inhuman acts so that next time he thinks twice before beating or insulting me.
